Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) Early Learning 2025 Conference Presenter – Promoting Diversity in Education

I had the incredible opportunity to be a presenter at the Sacramento County Office of Education's Early Learning 2025 Conference! This inspiring event brought together passionate educators dedicated to shaping the future of early learning.

During my presentation, I spoke about one of my core missions—promoting diversity and inclusion through children's books and interactive literacy workshops. I highlighted how my work, including books like Our Colorful School, creates space for every child to feel seen, heard, and celebrated.

As part of my session, I invited teachers and educators to create flags representing their countries and cultural backgrounds. This hands-on activity is something I regularly do with children in my workshops to encourage conversations around identity, belonging, and global appreciation. It was truly powerful to see educators reflect on their own experiences while connecting to the approach I use with kids.

This moment reminded me just how important it is to keep infusing education with creativity, empathy, and inclusion.
